Testimonials
Carole Edgecox, Isle of Man with Dr.Sathya Balan, Director
I must tell you about Varnacrafts and the beautiful work these ladies are producing.
A friend gifted me some table napkins and book marks …..and I wanted more, many more! By profession I’m a nurse and my favourite hobby is machine sewing with over 600 embroidery stitches on my sewing machine, but……..when I examined the exquisite stitch work and superb cloth of my napkins I have to admit I was jealous, even on my super- duper top range Husvarna sewing machine I couldn’t produce work like this. It’s lovely, even the reverse is as neat as the front.
Often I’m in India and when in Bangalore I grasped the opportunity to visit this cottage industry and see the women at work. Just to see their hard working hands and fingers (no washing machines or modern conveniences here) nimbly producing such beautiful work, I truly felt humbled. This is very special stitch craft and I found to my joy that it can be personalised in design and colour. I was especially impressed with the embroidery and quality of some pillow cases I noticed and wanted them for myself, but unfortunately this was a customers order and I have to wait for mine. Driving home my mind was filled with admiration for these ladies and it really struck me how easy it is for us in the UK to just pop into well known shops and buy massed produced household items, only to visit our friends and see the same in their homes. I can hardly wait for my bedding order to arrive; my bed will look so grand with the pristine white pillow cases and exquisite subtle coloured life like daffodils decorating the corners. They will be mine and no one else in the world can possibly have the same. I sincerely recommend Varnacraft to you, not only will you be getting something beautiful but also helping these ladies to be proud wage earners.
Yours sincerely Carole Edgecox
